Waskasoo & Woodlea

Nestled just south of the Gaetz Lakes Bird Sanctuary and bounded to the west by the Creek of the same name, Waskasoo is a residential haven, which benefits immensely from Red Deer’s natural heritage. The area is also home to the Kerry Wood Nature Centre, and is bounded by the Red Deer River. Woodlea is a quaint neighborhood benefits from its great location nestled just next to the green expanses of the Gaetz Lakes Bird Sanctuary for those who love taking advantage of the great outdoors, but it is best known for the great variety of its amenities: aside from its numerous neighborhood schools (one of which is a well-loved highschool), it boasts the popular Woodlea Rink, a few bed and breakfasts, government offices, as well as the Central Alberta Theatre, where residents can catch a great play.
